This was the game that started the Metroid craze. This brief, 15 second Metroid NES commercial shows that you’ll have fun playing Metroid. Metroid for the NES was released in August of 1987. Space pirates are attacking the Galactic federation to steal Metroid organisms that will drain the life energy of anything it touches. It’s up to Samus Aran to travel to Planet Zebes and bring back the organisms before the space pirates can duplicate them and use them as they wish. Your mission also includes to destroy the space pirates base and to put and end to their leader, Mother Brain, once and for all.
